Safety notes

Before you get in the water.

✓ Brevard Ocean Rescue lists full-time towers at the Cocoa Beach Pier, Shepard Park, Lori Wilson Park and Minutemen Causeway, generally 10 AM–5 PM.
✓ Cocoa Beach uses standard beach warning flags for surf, current and marine-life hazards.
✓ Dogs are allowed only in the designated Cocoa Beach dog-beach area and during posted hours—not across the entire shoreline.
Live safety source

Use the posted flags and official rescue info.

Conditions can be different from what the beach looked like an hour earlier. Swim near staffed towers when possible and treat warning flags seriously.

Try another stretch

A different kind of beach day.

Satellite Beach

A quieter beachside stretch with several city-managed beach parks, easy surf access and less tourist intensity than central Cocoa Beach.

Open guide

Indialantic / Melbourne Beach

Central and south beachside combine lifeguarded county parks, free-parking options, surf fishing and quieter barrier-island access.

Open guide

Sebastian Inlet

More than three miles of Atlantic beach plus inlet scenery, surfing, fishing and a protected cove—beautiful, but with more current and access considerations than a typical city beach.
