There is enough NE/ENE energy for rideable surf, with the cleaner opportunity earlier before more onshore texture develops. Cocoa Beach remains the friendlier call for longboards, funboards and surfers who want less consequence than the inlet.

Surf Conditions NowOct 3, 2026

Central Brevard is seeing rideable thigh-to-waist range surf at the better exposures. The better play is to check early, move if the first sandbar looks weak, and expect more texture as local onshore wind increases.

Sebastian has enough size for shortboard surf, but onshore wind is hurting quality. The inlet can still offer more punch than nearby beach breaks, with crowd, current and jetty hazards making it a higher-consequence choice than Cocoa Beach.

Cocoa Beach

Cocoa Beach is the easiest place to start exploring Brevard surf: lots of beach access, plenty of sand-bottom peaks, longboard-friendly days, surf shops and lessons, and enough room to move when one sandbar is crowded.

Satellite / Indialantic

Central Brevard gives surfers a long stretch of beach breaks from Satellite Beach through Indialantic. Conditions can vary noticeably over a few miles, and sandbars often matter more than the name of the beach access.

Sebastian Inlet

Sebastian Inlet is Brevard's highest-profile surf zone. The north side can amplify swell around the jetty and produce more powerful, crowded surf than many nearby beach breaks, while surrounding beaches offer alternatives when the main peak is packed.
