Recent Sebastian-area reports point to bait pods as the key. Snook and trout have been consistent where cleaner water and bait line up, with redfish mixed in around inshore edges. Tarpon and sharks are working beachside bait schools. The inlet itself slowed sharply after wind and rough water dirtied things up, though undersized snook and some snapper continued around the T-dock.
Conditions: Recent wind and waves dirtied the inlet and pushed bait around. The weekly forecast favors early starts and continued attention to wind, surf and storm activity as onshore flow strengthens.
Bait / approach: Live mullet, pigfish and other local baitfish are the recurring theme. Where bait is scattered, work mangrove shorelines, grass flats and current edges instead of covering empty water.
Best window: Moving water plus cleaner water is the strongest combination; check the Sebastian NOAA tide and the NWS marine forecast before choosing inlet, beach or lagoon.
